To the Editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Lucy Rogers’ candidacy to represent Cambridge and Waterville in the Vermont House.
From the time I met Lucy 10 years ago, she stood out as someone wise beyond her years. As a mother of two girls, I often used Lucy as a model of integrity, wisdom and kindness.
So when I heard she was running for a House seat representing my community, I wanted to support her in any way I could. This young woman has all the elements of a strong leader.
Since campaigning with her, I’ve been struck by her ability to listen without judgment, and to be strongly committed to an idea but yet genuinely open to other opinions.
She truly cares about people, the environment and the Vermont culture. It’s a way of life she herself embraces, from milking cows and goats to being invited onto the board of the land stewardship group Cold Hollow to Canada — a true steward of the land.
She sees challenges as opportunities. She’s persistent and a hard-working self-starter, a quality that will enable her to get things done in Montpelier.
I proudly endorse Lucy Rogers for House of Representatives and urge you to do the same.
