She’ll put her skills to work for us

By April Vanderveer, Waterville

I am writing to express my support of Lucy Rogers for Vermont House representing Cambridge and Waterville.

I have been Lucy’s neighbor in Waterville for 20 years. During that time, Lucy has always struck me as someone who is thoughtful, hard-working, and willing to take on large tasks with determination and perseverance. She is someone who cares deeply for her neighbors, her community, and her state. Although she has had opportunities to pursue a professional life far beyond Vermont, she has returned to her community in order to put her skills to work for us.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to accompany Lucy as she visits families in our district. At each door she knocks on, she takes the time to truly listen to each person’s concerns. She is a candidate who is willing to put politics aside and represent the people who live here. I have been so impressed by her willingness to see both sides of an issue, to discuss, to find compromises and creative solutions to the problems facing our community. I know she will take these skills to the Statehouse when she represents us in November.

If you would like to find out more about Lucy Rogers, and get to talk to her in person, feel free to join me for the Candidates Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at Varnum Memorial Library in Jeffersonville.

I would encourage everyone to register to vote, to find your local polling place, or vote from home. And, when you do vote this Nov 6, I invite you to join me in voting for Lucy Rogers. Thank you.
